To make an infusion, use 1 teaspoon of corn silk, passion flower, common stinging nettle, oregon grape root, oregano, parsley or powdered cloves per cup of boiled water, steep 10-20 minutes and drink up to 3 cups a day. NOTE: Do not drink nettle tea if you have heart or kidney problems.

Place 2 teaspoons of crushed seeds of anise, fennel, coriander, mustard or cumin in a cup of boiled water and steep for 20 minutes then drink this tea three time a day. Sweeten with honey if desired.

Garlic has antifungal properties. Eating at least two fresh garlic cloves a day can prevent and treat yeast infections.

Make a basil tea and use it as a gargle for fungal throat infections. Boil 3 1/2 cups of water, remove from heat, and add 1 1/4 teaspoons ground basil. Cover and steep for 30 minutes. Cool and gargle. Or sweeten to taste with honey and drink 1 cup twice a day.

Make a thyme tea using 1 teaspoon dried thyme per 1 cup boiling water. Steep and drink 1 to 4 cups per day until the infection has gone.

Take seven peppercorns, grind and mix with honey and consume 3 times a day.

Put a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper in water or juice and drink it 3 times a day.

Take 1 teaspoon of black seed powder with honey and drink 3 times a day, 1 hour before meals and 1 before bed. Eat 4 to 5 cloves of garlic each day in conjunction with the black seed and honey.

Consuming comfrey tea and echinacea tea on a regular basis can reduce and avoid infections.

Drink a combination of olive leaf extract and grapefruit seed extract in a glass of water.

Take 1oz of gentian root powder in a glass of any available liquid.

Water boiled with holy basil leaves can be taken as a drink. This water can also be used as a gargle in the case of yeast infections of the mouth or throat.

Mix 1 teaspoon of Chinese rhubarb root powder to 1 cup of water. Then, bring to boil and simmer at a reduced heat for 10 minutes. Add a little honey to sweeten. NOTE: not suitable for pregnant or breast feeding women, children under twelve years of age, those who suffer from colitis or have intestinal obstruction or have a history of renal stones or urinary problems, or if taking anticoagulant (blood thinning) medicine or  aspirin.

A decoction can be made of grated alum root simmered in a litre of water until the liquid has halved, strain then drink when cooled. NOTE: Alum root may cause gastrointestinal irritation if taken in large amounts.

For lung infection the consumption of swede can help reduce the wheezing.

Goldenseal herb is effective both externally or internally.

Place a tablespoon of chopped burdock root into 1 pint of boiled cold water. Simmer gently for 20 minutes. Strain, cool, keep in a cold place and drink 4 times a day. This tea can also be used as a skin and face wash. Apply the cooled tea to the skin with a clean facecloth and rinse in cool water.

For lung infection make a tea with:
2 tsp. powdered Indian root
2 tsp. granulated echinacea root
2 tsp. elecampane root
2 cups of bottled or filtered water
Mix all ingredients and let them steep for 2 hours

To improve breathing make a tea with:
1 tsp. chamomile flowers
1 tsp. echinacea root
1 tsp. mullein leaves
1 tsp. passionflower leaves
1 quart bottled or filtered boiling water
Mix all ingredients and let them steep for 2 hours

WARNING
Avoid cumin, garlic and turmeric if taking anticoagulants (blood thinning medication), or hormone therapies and contraceptive pills or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen, have heart problems or during the first three months of pregnancy or are breast feeding

Avoid rosemary tea if suffering from high blood pressure, pregnant or breastfeeding

Maintain proper personal hygiene and be particular about drying between folds of skin, the belly button and around the toes as fungus and yeasts thrive in these areas. Take baths adding tea tree oil, sea salt or any of the the herbal teas listed here to help clear up external infections. Keep house dust down and surfaces clean (see the Hygiene, Toxins and Health page for natural cleaners), eliminate damp and mould from the home, change into clean clothes and wash towels and bedding often.

Pour a very hot bath adding a large handful of fresh mint leaves and leave to steep until the water is bearable for soaking the whole body. Remove the leaves and add one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda then soak in the bath for as long as possible. Use a flannel to gently rub the skin whilst soaking. Do not use soap. Dry with a clean towel and then dress in clean clothes and change bedding. Do this everyday for 3 days and skin infections should clear up.

Adding a large handful of basil, borage, bay, fig, marigold, oregano and/or rosemary leaves, cloves (sliced or crushed) and a few drops of lavender oil, coconut oil and/or tea tree oil to the bath with the mint can also provide extra antifungal properties. Leaves can be soaked in cold water and bicarbonate of soda then rinsed first before adding to the bath to eradicate any mites or bugs.

Rub some pure aloe vera gel (by breaking open the aloe vera plant leaves) onto the areas of infection after the bath can also help.

Lavender oil, oregano oil and garlic oil are excellent home remedies for fungal infections in nails. Apply any of these oils on the under side of the nails two times in a day to heal the infection.

A mixture of one teaspoon of olive oil and two drops of oregano oil can also be applied.

Prepare a paste-like mixture by mixing turmeric powder and water. Apply this paste on the affected area for sometime until it dries. Finally, wash it off with water to ease the symptoms and remove infections, especially in nails.

Applying a light coat of pure tea tree oil on the feet is one of the most effective natural home remedies for foot infections. Continue this natural remedy for at least two weeks to see considerable difference.

Soaking the affected area in a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar mixed in equal proportions is one of the most effective natural home remedies.

Mix lemongrass with pure coconut oil to apply as a liniment. Add marigold for a more potent healer of fungal infection.

The juice of the common stinging nettle leaves, a tea or a decoction of the root can be used as a wash for fungal infections.

Make a neem leaf paste by simply pounding fresh neem leaves with water using a mortar and pestle. Apply it onto the affected skin and leave for twenty minutes or until nearly dry. Then rinse it off.

Apply a combination of crushed neem leaves and basil with some rose water.

A paste prepared from neem leaves and turmeric powder can also be applied 2-3 times in a day on a regular basis.

Applied locally, holy basil juice is beneficial in the treatment of ringworm and other fungal skin diseases.

A combination of turmeric and basil can treat the infection.

Application of juice extracted from fig leaves can treat infections of the scalp. Black walnut and bay leaves are also effective.

Apply aloe vera gel to infected area.

Borage oil may be applied to areas of fungal infection daily until it has cleared up.

Lemon (as an essential oil) may be applied to infections.

Taking a mixture prepared from lotus flowers and milk twice a day for at least two weeks for infections of the lips.

Many other herbs have the ability to conquer yeast such as: calendula, cedar, comfrey, goldenseal, myrrh,  pau d'arco, reed mace root, and tamanu oil. Make strong decoctions or infusions of these herbs by steeping in hot water for 20 minutes, To ease itching and burning apply externally with pads that have been soaked in it or bathe in hot water that they have been steeped in for 15 minutes.

Apricots, banana, cayenne pepper, chicory, coconut milk, comfrey, garlic tea, papaya, mango, marigold, myrrh, pau d'arco, potatoes, reed mace root, tamanu oil, tea tree oil, watercress, yoghurt (live probiotic) all have antifungal properties.

CANCER

Cancer is one of the worst of all diseases because it does not seem to matter how fit and active someone is or what age they are, it can strike anytime, anywhere and certain types, if left untreated, can be fatal.

In a healthy person, cancer cell 'apoptosis' is a normal, healthy part of biology. Every living system creates cancerous (or abnormal) cells. There are hundreds or thousands of "micro tumours" in every human being living today, but cancerous cells in healthy people are triggered to destroy themselves once the system realises they're flawed.


This cellular 'realization', however, requires healthy cell communication from 'messengers', and that's dependent on the correct friendly bacteria, phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals, fibre and proteins being available in the body. Multiple nutrient deficiency can go unnoticed for some time which is why seemingly 'healthy' people can be struck by cancer too. Developing these deficiencies could be due to genetic, environmental, diet and lifestyle factors.

Constantly bombarding the body with unhealthy chemicals or foods such as sugar, alcohol, tobacco smoke, pollution and medications will eventually cause too much strain on the organs and this will break down the cells natural processes on a molecular level and lead to infections, disease and cancer. Stress, over exertion and cell damage from trauma can lead to the same state. In order to cope with the modern day lifestyle, it is even more important that the body is fed with all the phytonutrients required for all processes to work correctly.

Many everyday household and cosmetic products contain chemical toxins that can build up in the body and eventually lead to cancerous tumours. For instance; regular use of aluminium-containing deodorants can contribute to the clogging of underarm lymphatics and then to breast problems such as cystic disease and tumours. Hair dyes contain chemicals that react to chemicals in cigarette smoke and air pollution from traffic and produce the most carcinogenic compounds known to man.Smoking tobacco has now been proven to cause various cancers due to the poisonous chemicals that are inhaled regularly everyday.

The mental state of mind can affect the body's ability to ward off and fight cancer. Stress, anger and bitterness will make the body acidic which helps cancer thrive whereas a positive and proactive attitude without worry and insecurities can relax the body and allow molecular processes to work as they should. Restorative sleep is vital too. Unfortunately, many people's daily lives are full of far too much stress these days and this is one of the causes of an increase in diseases like cancer.

CHEMOTHERAPY, RADIATION TREATMENT AND SURGERY

There are both pros and cons to undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The side effects can be very difficult to contend with and may even cause so much stress that the body cannot cope with both the cancer and the treatment 

Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells but is also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

Radiation, while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumour size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumour destruction.

When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications. Chemotherapy and radiation can also cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.

Surgery is usually successful at removing cancerous tumours but it  can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

Very early detection improves the outcome of all treatments tremendously as does switching to a very healthy sugar free diet and a chemical free living environment.

THE DIET

Balanced nutrition is the most important factor in both preventing and fighting off cancer so a diet that provides all the necessary proteins, fibre, vitamins, phytonutrients and minerals is essential. Natural organic non genetically modified foods without additives have been proven to prevent and even cure certain types of cancer because they contain far more naturally balanced nutrients and no synthetic chemicals or pesticide residues.

A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and fruit helps put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.

To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells drinking fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and consuming some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day is vital. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

There are at least 100 known minerals which are vital in the diet to fight and prevent cancer. 20 years ago the incidence of cancer among the Pueblo Indians was 1 in 1000 compared to 1 in 4 in developed nations. It was the same as that for the Hopi Indians, since their food was essentially the same. But unlike the Hopi, these Indians have accrued certain items from outside their environment, hence supermarkets were installed in the area. Today the incidence of cancer among the Pueblos has now risen to 1 in 4. It must be emphasized that the high incidence of cancer is not due to what is in the supermarket foods, hut rather to what is not in it. It is essentially lacking rubidium and cesium and low in magnesium, potassium and zinc.

The Indians who live in Central America and on the highland of Peru and Ecuador have very low incidences of cancer and some tribes in South America never develop cancers at all. The soil, in the areas where cancer is scarce, is volcanic. Fruit from the areas has been obtained and analyzed for rubidium and cesium and found to run very high in both elements. Cases have been reliably reported where people with advanced inoperable cancer have gone to live with these Indians and found that all tumour masses disappear within a very few months.

It is becoming increasingly proven that certain phytonutrients, such as the vitamin B complex, especially vitamin B12, vitamin B13 and vitamin B17 and minerals such as rubidium, cesium, magnesium, potassium, sulphur and zinc, which are lacking in the western world's processed and refined food diets, may be responsible for the rise in cases of cancer.

Lactoferrin found in cottage cheese, cow's milk (organic unpasteurised), goat's milk (organic unpasteurised) kefir  grapesmilk, yoghurt and whey suppresses cancer and tumour growth and prevents the spreading of cancer to the lungs and liver and is especially effective against skin cancer and leukaemia. Excessive amounts of iron in the diet may increase the risk of developing certain types of cancer. Many diseases and cancers need iron to reproduce and grow. By starving cancer cells of iron, lactoferrin helps deprive them of life.

Recent studies have discovered that there are inorganic mineral compounds such as iridium and rhodium in grape seeds and colloidal gold in black grape skins which causes cancer cells to 'commit suicide' within 24 hours without affecting surrounding healthy cells.

Put simply, a tumour is the result of out of control cell growth. To assure that the cell cycle - the cell's process of duplicating itself to make more cells - goes smoothly, a large network of proteins tells other proteins what to do and when to do it. When any of these layers of protein regulation fail, cell growth can get out of hand. On the molecular level, JNK influences cellular functions by tagging other proteins with a phosphate chemical group (a process known as phosphorylation), a common mechanism cells use to turn enzymes on and off. Phosphorylation is so important that when JNK goes awry, a number of different disorders can result, such as cancer, diabetes or neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.

This JNK activating compound cannot be found in seedless grapes (obviously) or grape seed oil as the process to make the oil removes it. Grape seed extract can be found as a supplement but, if you can find grapes with the seeds intact, it is perfectly safe to chew and swallow the seeds and may help in the fight against cancer. Why not try grinding the seeds (which do taste bitter) into a powder and adding to meals and drinks daily to take advantage of this healthy and nutritious source of cancer fighting food? 

The seeds and stones of fruits such as apricots and peaches are one of the main courses of food in cultures such as the Navajo Indians, the Hunzas the Abkhasians and many more. Within these tribes there has never been a reported case of cancer.

Use honey as a healthy nutritious alternative instead (pure Manuka and Acacia honeys are the best) or try using coconut milk, parsnips, sweet potato, raisins, dates, figs, apples, apricots, bananas, berries, peaches, pears, papaya, mango or melon to sweeten. Sugar should be avoided at all costs as it contains no nutrients, robs the body of essential phytonutrients in order to be metabolised into fat, is more to blame for obesity than consuming fat, is highly addictive and feeds the pathogenic (bad) bacteria, yeasts and viruses causing disease and cancer. NON ORGANIC AND GENETICALLY MODIFIED PRODUCE 
The nutritional value is balanced and far greater in organically produced foods as much is lost in the processing and transit. Genetically modified crops are forced to resist the powerful pesticides, fungicides and herbicides that they are sprayed with then the consumer ingests residues of these chemicals. They are also changed to be able to withstand long transit and storage and to be larger in size but this also lowers their nutritional value. Intensive farming techniques leech important minerals from the soil which are never replaced. Hence the food grown in this soil is lacking in these minerals especially magnesium which is vital for human health.

NON ORGANIC

TAP WATER
Drink 2 litres of bottled mineral water everyday instead to avoid the consumption of chlorine and fluoride which is added to tap water. Bottled water often contains many vital minerals so is a healthy alternative.

CUT DOWN ON MEAT PROTEIN
Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat, remaining in the intestines, will become putrefied and leads to more toxic build up.

8 STEPS TO TAKE TO HELP THE BODY FIGHT CANCER

1. Clear out the kitchen cupboards, refrigerator and freezer of all refined foods, food with any additives or E numbers, meat fats, premade ready meals, sauces, white flour, sugar, chocolate, coffee, savoury and sweet snacks and fizzy and concentrated drinks

2. Stock up on whole grains, honey, seeds, legumes, nuts, raisins, herbs and spices and teas especially green tea. Then buy fresh fish, meat, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs and fruit every few days. Try to buy organic wherever possible.

3. Invest in a juicer to gain even more nutritional from fruit and vegetables

4. Buy a pestle and mortar to grind up nuts, seeds and whole grains to make your own additive and chemical free flour and nut and seed butters with rapeseed, olive or sesame oil.

5. Buy or collect some jars and fill them with seeds, nuts, dried fruits, herbs and spices then label them all.

6. Purchase a blender. Try steaming (fastest in the in the microwave 8 minutes approx.) a wide selection of the vegetables listed below with the herbs and spices listed and a tablespoon or two of bottled or filtered water then place in a blender for a deliciously healthy potage soup and eat a small bowl before each meal. Similarly blend a wide selection of the fruits together with nutmeg, cinnamon and honey to provide a tasty nutritious 'smoothie'. Add live probiotic organic yoghurt to make the 'smoothie' or soup creamy. The blender will also allow you to make your own sauces with healthy ingredients and no additives.

The "5 a day" fruit and vegetables government advice is not entirely correct because the different colours of fruit and vegetables is also important. Nature has kindly colour coded foods for us and each one has different compounds which the body needs on a daily basis. Consuming one of each colour is vital for ultimate health. So choose at least one from each colour per day:

Some fruits and vegetables have more than one colour like spring onions for instance where the base is white and the tops are green.
To benefit from fruit, vegetables, beans, herbs and spices puree them in a blender as potage soups & juices. Add organic probiotic live yoghurt for a creamy effect.

Juicing fruits and vegetables can also provide the body with all the nutrients it needs.

Both soluble and insoluble fibre are also vital for a healthy digestive system which enables the body to produce the essential  phytochemicals that will naturally stop the development and spread of cancerous tumours.

Though some foods work particularly well in the prevention and cure of certain type of cancers, the diet should consist of a wide variety of nutritious natural foods and the following will all prevent many cancers as well as help to eliminate them. The correct nutrients in place in the body will automatically trigger the processes which will, not only stop cancerous cells from replicating, but also trigger them to die naturally. The soursop effectively targets and kills malignant cells in 12 types of cancer including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer. For the beta carotene to be absorbed, and for vitamin A to be made, foods such as avocado, oils or nuts must also be eaten at the same time to provide fats because carotenoids are fat-soluble, meaning they are absorbed into the body along with fats.

Tomatoes (especially cooked) contain beta carotene and when consumed with fat rich foods such as avocado, oils or nuts have been proven to fight against cancer.

Raspberries are the richest source of ellagitannin which the body converts into ellagic acid. Ellagic acid activates detoxifying enzymes in the liver, resulting in the clearing of cancer causing substances in the serum. It can also prevent carcinogens from attaching to cellular DNA and stimulate the immune system to effectively fight cancer cells and triggers apoptosis (self-destruction of cancerous cells).

Leukaemia cancer cells exposed to grape seed extract (GSE) were rapidly killed through the process of cell suicide known as "apoptosis. In these laboratory studies, an astonishing 76% of leukaemia cells committed suicide within 24 hours thanks to the ability of the proanthocyanidins in grape seeds to activate a protein called JNK, which regulates apoptosis. Normal healthy cells were left unharmed and many other studies have revealed similar results. It is difficult to find grapes with the seeds intact these days but it is worth sourcing them, chewing and swallowing the seeds or grinding them into a powder to add daily to soups, meals and fruit drinks. Berries and rosehips contain proanthocyanidins and may prove beneficial in reverting and fighting cancer.

Jiaogulan is a Chinese herb in traditional Chinese medicine. Gypenosides extracted from Jiaogulan decrease cancer cell viability, arrest the cell cycle, and induce apoptosis (cell death) in human cancer.

The extract from the oleander plant is a powerful immune system stimulator and inhibits angiogenesis and NF-kB factor in cancer cells. It also causes apoptosis in cancerous cells (natural cell death) and increased rates of autophagic cancer cell death when tested on pancreatic cancer.

Eat organic probiotic yoghurt with live cultures everyday, use instead of cream, as a dressing and in sauces and soups.

Pure organic coconut milk can be used instead of cream and has very high nutritional value as well as antibacterial, antifungal, antivirus and anti-parasite properties.

Betulinic acid is a tumour fighting, anti fungal and anti bacterial compound found in the bark of white birch trees which can treat skin cancers, melanoma, actinic keratosis, lung, colorectal, breast, prostate and cervical cancers. Chaga mushrooms and winged beans and are also prime sources of betulinic acid.

To benefit from foods containing carotenoids like tomatoes & carrots always eat together with fat rich foods like rapeseed oil, olive oil, nuts or avocado because carotenoids are fat-soluble, meaning they are only absorbed into the body along with fats and can then assist with the manufacture of the essential vitamin A nutrient. Rapeseed oil is particularly good to cook with as it has a higher burning temperature than other oils and more nutrients.

CANCER CELLS
When cells duplicate they produce new cells with identical DNA. But every one in a million has a fault in the DNA makeup and is an abnormal cell. In a nutritionally balanced individual these abnormal cells are instructed on a molecular level to commit suicide and are dissolved. However, if certain phytochemicals are missing, this normal procedure does not take place and the abnormal cells begin to multiply and cause a mass of abnormal cells known as a tumour which can be benign or malignant.

TUMOURS
A tumour is a mass or lump of tissue made up of uncontrolled, duplicating abnormal cells. Tumours can be benign or malignant. Benign tumours are not cancerous, and cells from benign tumours do not spread to other parts of the body. In most cases, benign tumours do not come back after they are removed. Benign tumours are rarely a threat to life. Malignant tumours are cancerous. They are generally more serious and can invade and damage nearby tissues and organs.

BENIGN TUMOURS
This means the duplicating abnormal cells will stay in one place and not cause any serious health issues unless the tumour grows too large. On many occasions a benign tumour can be stopped from growing by the body's own natural defences and can remain in the body for life without causing any symptoms or health problems.

MALIGNANT TUMOURS
This means that the mass of duplicating cells have got out of control and the body's natural defence system has been unable to stop them spreading to other parts of the system. This will happen when the balance of the bodies naturally manufactured chemicals has been upset. This can happen for a variety of reasons but diet is fundamentally the root cause.

CAUSES
Cancer is caused by a lack of the 'activating' chemical messengers that will naturally cause the abnormal 'cancer' cells to 'commit suicide'. Instead these abnormal cells continue to multiply because the body is not providing the 'halting' message to tell them to stop.  There are many reasons why these chemical messengers are not being manufactured in sufficient numbers in the body.

TOXINS
A build up of toxins in the body can prevent absorption of the phytonutrients required to manufacture this vital messenger system and kill off the friendly bacteria that are involved in this process.

They can keep the friendly bacteria away from the part of the body they have taken residence in and so the abnormal cells will not get the message to stop replicating.

That is why it is so important to include natural cleansing and detoxifying foods that can flush the toxins and heavy metals out of the system in the daily diet. The more the toxins find their way into the body the more of these foods are required to flush them back out.

A build up of toxins from tap water and food additives, air pollution, pesticides and drugs (such as antibiotics) can block absorption of vital nutrients especially the B vitamin complex and phytonutrients essential for the cellular and nervous system. Now there is also a huge surge in vitamin D deficiency because sunscreens are blocking out all the sun's rays so this vital nutrient is not being manufactured in the body.

BACTERIA
The human body is made up of trillions of different species of bacteria most of which are harmless as long as they reside in the right location in the body.

The potentially pathogenic bacteria are constantly put in check by the 'friendly' bacteria's growth. The friendly bacteria are responsible for more than just that though.

They are involved in the processes which manufacture the 'messengers' which tell cancer cells to die.

They are also involved in processes which manufacture nutrients for all the body's cells and processes. This includes fighting off virus and yeast infections.

Without them the human body would cease to be. The utmost importance of these organisms cannot be stressed enough yet they are not considered when planning meals. They must be fed the right foods containing all the phytonutrients necessary for them to perform their roles.

Fibre; this is one of the most vital ingredients that should be eaten on a daily basis to feed the friendly bacteria in the intestines and aid digestion. Without this the system begins to break down. Unprocessed whole grains, fruit and vegetables are the only way to gain enough fibre to keep the system working well.

Vitamins, phytonutrients and minerals; the correct balance of all of these essential ingredients is required because they are all interlinked with the bacteria in the body and without just one of them natural processes within the human system begin to stop working.

Trying to take a shortcut using supplements is pointless because they do not contain the natural and correct micro nutrient balance which natural food does. For instance; there is no point consuming beta carotene on it's own as it is fat soluble and will not be absorbed without fats.

DRUGS
The interdependency cannot, as yet, be replicated synthetically by man because he is still in the process of learning about phytonutrients, bacteria and the all the complex micro processes involved. The current trend of prescribing manufactured medication to cure all infections has had disastrous results and cause debilitating side effects.

Antibiotics, for instance, have managed to develop MRSA 'superbugs' (Staphylococcus Aureus) which have outdone man's attempts to interfere with natural processes. Now other serious diseases such as gonorrhoea and tuberculosis are becoming resistant too. Not only that but the chemicals in the drugs exacerbate the problem even further by adding a toxic overload to the already weakened human body and upset the body's natural defences and processes.

The 'side effects' of statins and many other medications are not only debilitating but can be dangerous. They are constantly ignored until thousands of people are affected and there is a public outcry. So many suffer in silence or take more drugs to combat the side affects not knowing that they are damaging their delicate highly sensitive system sometimes beyond repair because they trust the health practitioner to know for them. Food is naturally balanced and the body is used to dealing with it. Chemicals and synthetic additives simply upset the natural balance that must exist for optimum health.

FOOD PROCESSING
Most food manufacturing and packing processes add substances that are not only unnatural and unhealthy to be consumed but can actually become toxins that build up for years in the human system as in the artificial sweetener aspartame which causes brain tumours in rats.Many of these substances block absorption of vital phytonutrients and some processes completely strip the healthy nutrients from food altogether. Scientists are only recently discovering just how essential these phytonutrients are for the human system to remain in perfect health and working order. This proves that processed foods which contain artificial additives are almost definitely one of the major root causes of the massive surge in cases of allergies and infections and may even be responsible for diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, heart disease and cancer which have also skyrocketed in the numbers of cases since mass processed food became the normal way to eat.

FOOD CONTENT
Knowing exactly what is being consumed is very difficult because of the surge of restaurants and takeaway fast food outlets. These food suppliers are under no obligation to inform their consumers exactly what they have put into the food and can even 'legally' hide the exact ingredients as a "secret recipe"! It has recently come to light that even processed supermarket food can contain obnoxious substances for years without the consumers' knowledge.

MODERATION
The human body can cope with most things that are ingested in moderation but today, excess in so many ways seems to be the rule of thumb. There is a natural balance which must be carefully considered if cancer is to be avoided. It is almost as if cancer is a warning that trying to interfere with natures already perfect system is pointless.

Consuming a wide variety of small amounts of each natural food that has the nutritional content required is all it takes to become healthy and stay cancer free. Unfortunately, for many, it is a race against time because cancer cells replicate so quickly. Therefore the answer is to provide the right fuel to the body in the first place so that cancer can never take over.

Once cancer has taken hold the correct diet is even more vital. Cut out all sugar, coffee, animal fats, processed foods, synthetic chemicals and toxins from your life. Campylobacter enteritis - Natural Remedies

Campylobacter enteritis

A common bacterial infection producing severe gastrointestinal upset that can last for two weeks. It's rarely fatal in healthy people.
It is caused by improperly slaughtered or processed meat not thoroughly cooked, contaminated vegetables, milk or water. Pets can also shed the bacteria through their faecal matter. Symptoms are fever, aches and pains, diarrhoea and vomiting. Seagulls are known to harbour very high concentrations of this bacteria so any contact with their faecal matter must be washed off immediately.


Natural Remedies for Food Poisoning

                         

Drink juices of the following through out the day:

aloe vera, apple, cranberry, lemon, lime, mango, mosambi juice, papaya, pear, soursop

For added bacteria fighting benefits add a pinch of the following to the juices:

bicarbonate of soda, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, cumin, coriander seeds, ginger, nutmeg, pure unrefined sea salt,

Add apple cider vinegar for a more powerful bacteria fighting ingredient and honey for both taste and bacteria fighting enzymes. Manuka honey is the best for this purpose.,

To relieve dehydration caused by fever and diarrhoea sip pineapple juice and coconut milk

Teas made with basil, dill, lemongrass, parsley, rosemary, sage or thyme or a combination of more than one, can provide a powerful bacterial fighting remedy. Pour hot boiled (but not boiling water) over a handful of fresh or dried leaves. Allow to steep for 15 minutes then strain and sip slowly. 3- 6 cups are recommended per day. Honey can be added for taste and added bacteria fighting enzymes.

Live probiotic yoghurt and miso soup can give some relief to abdominal pain and and help to fight the bacteria.

Avoid: ginger & turmeric if taking anticoagulants (blood thinning medication) aspirin or ibuprofen or have problems with blood clotting, have heart problems and during the first trimester of pregnancy.
