Beriberi (B1 thiamine deficiency)
Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
Helps fuel the body by converting blood sugar into energy. It keeps mucous membranes healthy and is essential for nervous system, cardiovascular and muscular function. Also may enhance circulation, helps with blood formation and the metabolism of carbohydrates. It is also required for the health of the nervous system and is used in the biosynthesis of a number of cell constituents, including the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is used in the manufacture of hydrochloric acid, and therefore plays a part in digestion. It is also great for the brain and may help with depression and assist with memory and learning. In children it is required for growth and has shown some indication to assist in treating arthritis, cataracts as well as infertility.
Deficiency has been linked to severe mental illness. Beriberi is the vitamin deficiency disease in which the body does not have enough vitamin B1 (thiamine). Beriberi literally means "I can't, I can't" in Singhalese, which reflects the crippling effect it has on its victims. Thiamine serves as a coenzyme in the chemical pathway responsible for the metabolism of carbohydrates. Persons may become deficient in vitamin B1 either by not ingesting enough in the diet or by excess use, which may occur in hyperthyroidism, pregnancy and lactation or fever. Prolonged diarrhoea may impair the body's ability to absorb vitamin B1 and severe liver disease impairs its use. Swelling of bodily tissues (edema) is common.
Signs of deficiency are extreme fatigue, irritability, depression, apathy, drowsiness, poor concentration, poor coordination, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, appetite loss, constipation, edema, an enlarged liver, forgetfulness, gastrointestinal disturbances, heart changes, irritability, laboured breathing, nervousness, numbness of the hands and feet, pain and sensitivity, muscle aches, limb pains, swollen joints, tingling sensations, weak and sore muscles, general weakness, severe weight loss.

Avoid: seeds & nuts if suffering from diverticulitis
Avoid: wheat if suffering from gluten intolerance or intestinal upsets as it can irritate the stomach lining

I has suffered for Human papillomavirus HPV) for 2years, I was given some tablets at the hospital but I refused to take it, They said I have to be on it for life so I don't want take a drugs everyday for life.
